If you have always thought about becoming a Nurse but life got in the way, or nursing has recently appealed to you as a career option, but you do not have the desired qualifications, you can still make this career switch.

This one-year intensive course is designed to prepare you for study in a health-related bachelor's degree program like Adult Nursing or Midwifery.

You must genuinely desire and aptitude to enter nursing. Universities will expect you to have gained experience working in a healthcare setting and require a DBS check. We strongly advise you to have experience by the time you begin your course.

What you will study
The course is broken down into manageable units that give you the study skills and knowledge required for university, perfect for those who have been out of education for some time.

Entry Requirements
- You must be aged 19 plus
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- GCSEs - grades A* - C / 9-4 or Functional Skills Level 2 or recognised non-UK GCSE equivalencies in English and maths preferred; however, each applicant will be considered on an individual basis
- Selection by interview, initial screening, literacy and numeracy tests

Important Information for Access Course Students

Students enrolled in our Access Course should be prepared to dedicate significant time to their studies outside of scheduled class hours. In addition to attending college for two days a week, each consisting of a 6-hour session from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM, students are expected to commit at least 12 hours of study outside of these college days. Attendance is crucial, and it is expected that students attend the entire session each day. Personal arrangements will need to be made to accommodate this schedule to ensure successful completion of the course.
