The College is thrilled to announce the launch of the 2024 -2025 Career Advantage Programmes!

This initiative is designed to give all our students a significant edge in the job market.

Through Career Advantage, we empower students with state-of-the-art technology to pave the way for successful careers. The platform utilises artificial intelligence to craft standout CVs and refine interview techniques. Plus, it offers the latest labour market insights, ensuring students make well-informed career choices.

Whats involved?

• For 16-18 yar old students
    

  The Career Advantage Programme for 16-18 learners is a digital initiative designed to give students a competitive edge in the job market. It is a compulsory timetabled independent study programme which forms part of their progression criteria.

  There are four levels:

  • Bronze
  • Silver
  • Gold and
  • Platinum

  Covering

  • Employability and Work Placements
  • Digital Skills
  • Social Impact and Enterprise and
  • Critical Thinking

  Students gain access to e-courses, videos, and articles and receive certificates upon completing each level, enhancing their employability skills and job market readiness.

• For Higher Education and Adult students

  The Higher Education Career Advantage Programme equips students with essential employability skills through both compulsory and optional elements.

  It includes four strands:

  • Compulsory Components (CV, IV, LMI & Strengths)
  • Developing Your Skills
  • Job Search and Career Preparation and
  • Your Social Impact

  Students access various resources and must complete specific components to receive a certificate, ensuring thorough career preparation.

• For Apprentices

  The Apprentices Career Advantage Programme enhances career management skills and knowledge across various topics.

  It includes compulsory and optional components, with four strands:

  • Compulsory Components
  • Skill Development
  • Career Management and
  • Job Prep Essentials

  Through career-focused discussions with job coaches in their review meetings, apprentices will be guided to complete the most relevant tasks on Career Advantage, aiding their development in specific areas.

This comprehensive programme ensures all students develop the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their careers.
