This course is designed to help you develop the skills and knowledge for working in the early years sector. The range of units encourages a holistic view of child development and work experience to help develop the practical skills required for working with children. To work in the early years setting you need to be caring, responsible, good with children, patient, calm, efficient, energetic and creative.

    • Play in early years settings
    • Children’s physical and health care needs
    • Health and safety practice
    • Collaboration and communications with parents, colleagues and other professionals
    • Children’s communication and language needs
    • Supporting children’s personal, social and emotional development
    • Child protection
  • Entry Requirements

    4 GCSEs at grade 9-4 (A*-C), including English and Maths, or a Level 2 qualification (Merit or Distinction) in a related subject. Note: for skills-based qualifications you might need the skills at Level 2 in order to enrol onto the Level 3.

  • Assessment

    Assessment is by course work and assignments, which are both internally and externally assessed. You will also need to complete a 300 hour work placemnt.
