London South East Colleges continues to be a ‘Good’ college, following a recent inspection by Ofsted.

This achievement reflects the quality of education across the colleges’ seven campuses in Bromley, Bexley, Greenwich and Lambeth – and its commitment to creating an inclusive environment where learners feel valued and respected.

The inspectors, who visited the College last month, praised several key areas including:

  • A strong curriculum offering extensive opportunities to prepare learners for their next steps, whether that’s further education, training, or employment
  • Effective quality assurance and improvement processes which leaders use well to work with staff and to raise standards. The proportion of learners aged 16 to 18 who achieve their qualifications has increased
  • Strong partnerships with employers and other stakeholders, delivering innovative initiatives to support students into employment
  • Effective safeguarding in an environment where learners feel valued, respected and safe
  • Adult learning achievements, helping adults secure qualifications and grow in confidence
  • High Needs students are supported to excel with excellent personal development and employability skills

Asfa Sohail, Executive Principal and Chief Learning Officer at London South East Colleges, says:
“We are delighted that we continue to be a Good college, with recognition of the important role we play in our communities.

“It reflects the commitment of our staff, who work so hard to ensure that every learner is supported to achieve their career goals and fulfil their potential.

“I am also grateful to our many stakeholders, including our governors, employers, Local Authorities, MPs, councillors and the many other organisations and agencies that support and enhance our provision.”
