If you're loooking for a career in the hairdressing industry, this 2 days a week course is perfect for you. It provides the opportunity to learn, develop, and practice the essential skills needed for employment and career progression in this field.

The course content is highly practical, covering a broad range of basic hairdressing skills. Successful completion can lead to further studies at Level 3 in Hairdressing or an Apprenticeship. Whether you're starting out or looking to advance, this course equips you with the foundational skills to thrive in the hairdressing industry.

  • What you will study

    Topics include:

    • Health and safety in the workplace
    • Working in the beauty related industries
    • Client consultation for hair services
    • Shampooing and conditioning for the hair and scalp
    • The Art of Hairdressing
    • Cut women’s hair
    • Colouring and lightening techniques
  • Entry Requirements

    You must:

    • Be over 19
    • Have 4 GCSEs at grades 9-3 (A*-D) (English and maths desirable) OR
    • a Level 1 qualification.
    • Previous experience, prior qualifications or a maths and English assessment may also be taken into consideration as entry criteria to the course.
  • Assessment

    You will be assessed through a range of practical assessment techniques, observations, assignments and online examinations

  • Moving Forward

    You can move on to:

    • Hairdressing Level 3 Diploma
    • Apprenticeship
  • Delivery

    This course is taught on Monday and Wednesdays at 5.30pm-8.30pm

  • Cost and Loans

    You will be expected to purchase your own course materials, hairdressing kit, uniform and text books
