  • What you will study
    • House and Wall Construction: Understand the fundamentals of constructing houses and walls.
    • Brick Bonds: Learn different brick bonding techniques.
    • Construction Materials: Gain knowledge about various construction materials.
    • Bricklaying: Develop practical bricklaying skills.
    • Tools, Their Care and Uses: Learn how to use and maintain bricklaying tools.
    • Building Regulations: Understand the regulations governing construction.
    • Health and Safety: Implement essential health and safety practices in a working environment.
  • Entry Requirements
    • You must be aged over 19
    • There are no entry requirements, but if you don’t have any qualifications, you will be asked to take an English and maths test.
  • Assessment
    • Practical Workshop Tasks: Your skills will be assessed through various hands-on tasks.
    • Written Tests: Short written tests will be conducted at the end of each unit.
    • External Tests: City & Guilds will conduct external assessments throughout the course.
  • Duration
    • Two Evenings a week for six months
