This course will continue to provide you with the theoretical knowledge and practical experience to work with athletes and exercise professionals. The course is ideal if you are planning to progress onto higher education to complete higher sport related qualifications. Potential students must demonstrate self-motivation, enthusiasm and a genuine commitment to improve their academic and practical skills in sport.

  • What you will study

    A range of units will be studied around sport and sport performance will be covered and may include:

    • Fitness training and programming
    • Sports nutrition
    • Sports coaching
    • Sports injuries
    • Sports leadership
  • Entry Requirements

    4 GCSEs at grade 9-4 (A*-C), including English and Maths, or a Level 2 qualification (Merit or Distinction) in a related subject. Note: For skills-based qualifications, you might need the skills at Level 2 to enrol in Level 3.

  • Assessment

    Units will be assessed using a variety of assessment methods, including completion of assignments, completion of training diaries and observation of practical skills.

  • Moving Forward

    Successful completion of this course will lead to direct entry to Sport and Physical Activity (Coaching) – NCFE Level 3 Extended Diploma or employment
