This course is ideal if you who are interested in a career in the hairdressing industry. It allows you to learn, develop and practice the skills required for employment and/or career progression in this field. Progression from this course can lead you to a Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing or to an Advanced Apprenticeship studying a Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing. Course content is highly practical and covers a broad range of basic hairdressing skills.

    • Colouring and lightening techniques

    • English and maths if you have not gained your GCSE grade 4
  • Entry Requirements

    4 GCSEs at grades 9-3 (A*-D) (English and maths desirable) or a Level 1 qualification. Final selection is by interview and internal tests.

  • Assessment

    You will be assessed through a range of practical assessment techniques, observations, assignments and online examinations

  • Moving Forward

    Level 3 Diploma in Women’s Hairdressing or Level 3 Diploma in Hair & Media Make-up

  • Duration

    1 year

    You will be expected to purchase your own course materials, beauty therapy/hairdressing kit, uniform and text books
