The T Level in Education and Childcare is a comprehensive two-year technical course designed in collaboration with employers. Its primary goal is to equip you with the skills the childcare and education sector requires.

  • What you will study

    You will study:

    • Technical Knowledge and Skills: You will learn the theoretical foundations and practical aspects of education and childcare. These include understanding child development, learning methodologies, and effective teaching practices
    • Industry Placement: As part of the program, students will engage in an industry placement lasting at least 45 days within childcare settings. This hands-on experience provides invaluable insights into real-world scenarios and fosters professional growth
    • Maths, English, and Digital Skills: The T Level ensures you develop strong mathematics, English, and digital literacy skills. These competencies are crucial for success in any educational or childcare role
  • Entry Requirements

    Five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and Maths

  • Assessment

    Learners must complete and pass two externally set exams. The exams consist of a mixture of short answer questions and extended response questions. They must also complete one Employer-set project. In year two, learners must complete one Occupational Specialist assessment, covering all the core elements and practical components of the course.
