  • What you will study

    During the first year of this course you will study four mandatory units:

    • Esports Skills, Strategies and Analysis
    • Enterprise and Entrepreneurship in the Esports Industry
    • Health, Wellbeing and Fitness for Esports Players.

    • Producing an Esports brand
    • Ethical and Current Issues in Esports

  • Entry Requirements

    4 GCSEs at grades 9-3 (A*-D) (English and maths desirable) or a Level 1 qualification.

  • Assessment

    This qualification includes a range of assessment types and styles. All units in the suite of qualifications for Level 3 are internally assessed and subject to external standards verification. This means that you will be set and assessed on assignments that provide the final summative assessment of each unit. You will be assessed using a variety of styles to help you develop a broad range of transferable skills. You may be given opportunities to:

    • Present the findings of your own research
    • Use case studies to explore complex or unfamiliar situations
    • Carry out projects for which you have choice over the direction and outcomes
    • Demonstrate practical and technical skills using appropriate processes. Some assessment will require you to demonstrate that you can identify and use effectively, in an integrated way, an appropriate selection of skills, techniques, concepts, theories and knowledge from across the whole sector as relevant to a key task. You will apply your learning in realistic contexts using scenarios and realistic activities that will allow you to draw on and apply your learning.
  • Moving Forward

    The primary focus of the BTEC Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Esports is on progressing to employment across a range of roles within Esports or further study. Jobs that are available in these areas include:

    • Esports player
    • Team Coach
    • Shoutcaster and Presenter
    • Social Media Influencer
    • Video Production Editor
    • Data Analyst

    This qualification attracts UCAS Tariff points and is recognised by higher education providers as contributing to entry requirements for many related courses. You can progress to higher-education degree programmes, such as a BA (Hons) in Events Management, BA (Hons) in Media or a BA (Hons) in Esports. You should check entry requirements for specific degree and HND programmes with providers.
