What will the apprentice be doing?
- Obtaining carpentry skills by watching and assisting carpenters on site with general carpentry works, such as door install, architraves, skirting, panelling etc
- Learning the general procedures of working on a live Tier 1 site whilst in a team, ensuring the principle contractors’ rules and requirements are adhered to, in terms of health and safety, housekeeping, PPE etc
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Carpentry and Joinery Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- If successful, the ideal career progression would be to continue as a carpenter gaining experience, moving on to supervisory / management
