This is a 2-year programme where you study for one day a week at College to gain your Foundation Degree. The Foundation Degree is a standalone degree covering Levels 4 and 5. The course will allow you to progress to a 1-year top-up programme to gain your full BA (Hons) degree qualification. This will be delivered from our University Centre at our Orpington Campus. The advantage of this qualification is that it has been developed collaboratively with employers, professionals and institutions. It is vocationally relevant and designed to meet the needs of a diverse workforce. This one-year programme, over one day a week, will allow you to gain your full Honours Degree to top up from an appropriate level 5 education programme such as a Foundation Degree in Childhood Studies, Supporting Teaching and Learning or Early Years. This programme is designed to allow students to remain in their work setting for most of the working week. On successful completion of the BA (Hons) Childhood Studies, students will be able to apply/demonstrate: A systematic understanding and detailed knowledge of key aspects of children’s learning and education and of the influence and complexities of the contexts in which this takes place Apply the methods and techniques learned to review, consolidate, extend knowledge and understanding and initiate and carry out enquiry relating to children’s learning and education.
