Biology - GCSE

The course covers the following areas:

• Cell biology
• Body system
• Infection and response
• Respiration
• Photosynthesis
• Homeostasis and response
• Inheritance, ecology and evolution

You must be aged over 19. Due to the intensive nature of this course, candidates should preferably have GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or above and should have studied science before. Students with non-standard qualifications will be interviewed and possibly asked to sit a test.

There are two written examination papers testing the understanding of both the theoretical and practical aspects of the course.

GCSE Science allows you to progress to many level 3 qualifications or above and is a requirement for many degree courses and careers
