This course will give you a good all-round grounding in electrical installation. It covers a wide range of skills that can be adapted for many specialist areas.

  • What you will study

    You will study:

    • Working safely in an engineering environment
    • Working efficiently and effectively in engineering
    • Using and communicating technical information
    • Wiring electrical equipment and circuits
    • Installing wiring support systems
    • Maintaining electrical systems and equipment
  • Entry Requirements

    English and Math GCSEs grade 4 or above, plus a Level 1 Electrical qualification

  • Assessment

    Assessment will be observation of practical activities that will take the form of a series of assignments developed in the respective practical workshops and written assignments for each unit

  • Moving Forward

    Provided you fulfil all of the course requirements, you may be able to progress onto a

    • Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installation
    • Level 3 Diploma in Electrotechnology
    • Level 3 Award in the Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations
    • Level 3 Award in the Periodic Inspection, Testing and Certification of - Electrical Installations.
    • Or employment although not as a fully qualified electrician
