This one-year course will enable you to gain a high level of practical experience, working in our well-equipped carpentry workshops, and ensure you have the skills and knowledge to start working as a trainee carpenter in the construction industry. You’ll learn about roof structures, door openings, kitchen units and all types of moulding. You will also learn how to set out your work area, work safely in a working environment and use the tools and materials to make basic wood joints and complete small carpentry projects.

  • Entry Requirements

    4 GCSEs at grades 9-3 (A*-D) (English and maths desirable) or a Level 1 qualification.

  • Assessment

    Assessment will be through observation of practical tasks in the workshop, a short written test at the end of each unit and external tests from City & Guilds throughout the course

  • Moving Forward

    Employment as a qualified tradesperson
