Our vacancy requires a hardworking, flexible apprentice to join our nursery team to promote learning within the EYFS framework. An enthusiastic, caring individual with a love of working with children.
Apprenticeship summary
What will the apprentice be doing?
- To keep a proper record of achievement file on key children, for parents/carers
- Strive to safeguard children by working to the organisation’s safeguarding Code of Conduct
- Liaise with and support parents/carers and other family members
- To attend weekly staff meeting
- To be flexible within working practices of Setting
- Be prepared to help where needed, including to undertake certain domestic jobs within the setting, e.g. preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment, cleaning the setting etc.
- Work alongside the manager and staff team to ensure that the philosophy behind the nursery is fulfilled
- Recording accidents as required
- Look upon the setting as a "whole" where can your help be most utilised, be constantly aware of the needs of children;
- To respect the confidentiality of information received
- To develop your role within the team especially with regard as a key worker
- Oversee lunchtime provision
Specific Child Care Tasks:
- The preparation and completion of activities to suit the child's stage of development
- To ensure that mealtimes are a time of pleasant social sharing
- Washing and changing children as required
- Providing comfort and warmth to an ill child
- To ensure the setting is of a high quality environment to meet the needs of individual children from different cultures and religious backgrounds, and stages of development
- To actively promote and support the safeguarding of children and young people in the workplace, ensuring setting policies and procedures are observed at all times
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Early Years Practitioner Level 2 (GCSE) Apprenticeship Standard
- Maths and English if required

- Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard
- Level 2 Early Years Practitioner qualification
- Level 1 Functional Skills in English and maths
- Institute of Apprenticeship Certificate
End point assessment:
- Professional discussion underpinned by portfolio
- Knowledge Test

Weekly staff meeting till 4pm (currently a Tuesday, but could change) They can apply for 15 min overtime for each week they attend.
